Make Time for Jesus
For 16 years parishioners from the St. Luke's Catholic Community have been volunteering to take the Vocations Blessing Crucifix home and pray that people will answer the call of God to be priests or nuns or live a married life, or single life, whatever God wishes.
Prayers are provided in the case that is taken home. Individuals or families spend time each day with God and Jesus in the home. Sometimes children have chosen to have Jesus spend time in their private area at home.
Without people continuing to answer God's call to be priests or nuns, we will not have the places to worship or those willing to teach our children their faith.
If you are willing to share your home with Jesus, please call Carol Juarez at (209) 463-2856 who monitors the Crucifix for the 10:15 am mass. Call Sister Odetta, (209) 462-0410, if you would like to receive the Crucifix at the 8:45 am Sunday mass.
The crucifix is received one Sunday and returned the next Sunday at the same mass. We want to continue the prayers for the future of our Church.
Two of the young men to the right are currently seminarians in various levels of study preparing for the priesthood. They appreciate your prayers as they discern God's will for them. Three of them, have been ordained and are now priests serving the Stockton Diocese.
If you are interested in learning more about the priesthood or religious life, please contact Sister Wanda Billion at the Diocese of Stockton's Vocations Office, 209-466-0636.
