Once per month, St. Luke Parish collects food to help stock the shelves of the Catholic Charities Food Pantry. Catholic Charities tells us that they have an urgent need for tomato sauce and canned fruit.
The Food Pantry Chairperson tells us they have a most urgent need for canned fruit (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail) and tomato products (which can be used in so many different types of food preparation.) Remember to pick up an extra can or two of these items each time you shop. Then bring them on the designated weekend before or after each Mass. Monetary donations for this cause are welcome, too. Checks should be made out to Catholic Charities. Thank you!
The schedule for food collection is as follows:
March 17 & 18 - St. Luke's
will be in the parking lot next to the Preschool collecting non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves of the Catholic Charities Food Pantry. The Food Pantry tells us they especially need canned fruit and canned tomato products. Thank you for your generous response to this vital ministry.
April 21 & 22 - Italian Catholic Federation
May 19 & 20 - St. Luke's Preschool
June 17 & 16 - Filipino Catholic Families
August 18 & 19 - Children of God Prayer Group
September 15 & 16 - Filipino Catholic Families
October 20 & 21 - CRE and RCIA
November 17 & 18 - Knights of Columbus
December 15 & 16 - CYO - Boys and Girls Athletics
Thanks to everyone who donated food to the Catholic Charities Food Pantry in November, 2017. Catholic Charities tells us they have an urgent need for tomato sauce and canned fruit.
Thank you for your help.
